A picture taken secretly in the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp by a prisoner showing one of the stakes on which corpses of prisoners were cremated when the crematories were overloaded. This picture, one of a series of four (Special selection of documental photographs in connection with the Frankfurt trial of war criminals members of the staff of the nazi extermination camp in Auschwitz), which we now know was secretly taken in 1944 by a Greek Jewish named Alex, was supplied by the clandestine Resistance Organization.(AFP/CAF WARSAW/File/Alex )
